Kathleen “Kathy” Riley ’78, retired educator from Blissfield, Mich. and Toledo, Ohio, died March 8, 2021. Her education career began with the Blissfield Schools Migrant Program, starting by riding a bus, picking up children and ending up as an administrator. She then taught at Blessed Sacrament Schools in Toledo. While teaching there, Kathy obtained her behavioral specialist certification from the University of Toledo, and then began teaching at Toledo Public Schools as a behavior specialist, later obtaining her master’s degree. While a student at Adrian College, she served as the manager for the men’s basketball team and was the first woman in AC history to receive a varsity letter in a men’s sport. Kathy was also a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Riley ’81, and is survived by another brother, Frank Riley ’76.
