Being back on the field for these Bulldogs is a dream come true with all the uncertainties 2020 has thrown their way.

On October 3rd, 2020 history was made at Adrian College. The first NCAA Division III football game was played between the Adrian College Bulldogs and Trine University Thunder. Not only was it the first NCAA Division III football game, it was the first NCAA football game in the state of Michigan since last year. Out of 2,000 games scheduled in Division III, all but seven were cancelled for 2020.

The Adrian Bulldogs and Trine Thunder rivalry is not as huge as the Big Ten, however, being the first football game in Michigan since December 30, 2019, it was one for the books. The Big Ten is scheduled to start October 24, 2020 and is sure to attract fans that have been waiting almost a year to see collegiate football. Most things were back to normal at AC with a few precautions put in place to make everyone safe. Temperature checks were conducted on families and friends who entered Docking Stadium and everyone was required to wear a mask and social distance.

Docking Stadium had a crowd of people in the stands that intensified the football game. Their positivity and love for the game of football resonated throughout the stadium. Both teams fought hard to come out the winner, tackling, sacking and running yards to get a touchdown. On the sidelines the cheer and dance team kept the audience engaged in the competition, while cheering and dancing their hearts out. The band was on point when it came to playing the Bulldogs’ beloved fight song as Adrian College students, staff, faculty and family members chanted the words. Being back on the field for these Bulldogs is a dream come true with all the uncertainties 2020 has thrown their way. The Adrian College Bulldogs are excited football is back in session and look forward to taking on their competitors in the remaining three games to come in 2020.
